1. Information We Collect

To deliver an authentic matching and community platform, we collect the minimal information necessary:

  • Account Credentials: Screen name, password hash (salted and encrypted), and a confidential email address used exclusively for account recovery and essential notifications.
  • Profile Preferences: Self-identified gender, age, relationship goals, approximate metro location, passions, and optional condition tags you choose to display.
  • Communications: Encrypted internal messages between members to facilitate safe conversation without exchanging phone numbers.

2. How We Guard Your Information

We implement strict technical and operational controls:

  • No Search Engine Indexing: We maintain strict Disallow directives in our robots.txt file and append noindex, nofollow headers to all authenticated areas. Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and automated scrapers cannot view or index your personal profile.
  • Private Photo Lockbox: You may designate albums as Private. Private photos are encrypted at rest and served exclusively through authenticated, temporary access tokens granted only to members you explicitly approve.
  • No Social Media Requirement: We never require, request, or support linking Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or Google account contacts to your dating profile.

3. Discretion in Billing

Any optional premium subscription upgrades are processed through secure, PCI-compliant payment gateways. To protect your confidentiality, the billing descriptor appearing on your credit card statement will appear as an ambiguous, non-descript merchant descriptor with zero mention of "STD", "Herpes", "HIV", or dating.

4. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Regardless of where you reside, STD-Meet provides all members with full data autonomy:

  • Right to Access: You may request an export of your account data at any time.
  • Right to Rectify: You can edit any personal detail, photo, or prompt instantly from your profile settings.
  • Right to Erasure (Forget Me): You can delete your account at any moment. Upon deletion, all photos, bio content, and direct messages are permanently purged from our active databases.
